The Junior Qualifying Series

With its inaugural event slated for January 22 – 24, 2017 at Foshan Golf Club, host of the Foshan Open, a European Tour event,  The Junior Qualifying Series is an assortment of elite junior golf events held throughout Asia each, with the primary objective of helping players develop their skills and advance their readiness for college golf.

The competitively formatted events (54-holes over two days) provide junior golfers in the region with a platform of localized development and a channel for top-performers to boost their standing for college golf, by increasing their exposure to college coaches, enhancing their junior golf scoreboard ranking, and qualifying them for AJGA events in the U.S.

Series Overview & Objectives

Developing Golf and Education in Asia

AJGA Qualifying

Top performers from each Junior Qualifying Series event shall earn an AJGA tournament exemption, bypassing qualification and eligibility requirements, and are entered directly into an AJGA tournament field.

Junior Ranking

Events will be ranked on Junior Golf Scoreboard, providing players for the region a localized platform to affect their ranking and performance metrics, increasing exposure and standing for college golf.

Coach Exposure

JQS events are 54-holes over two days, offering a competitive and coach-relevant format for players to demonstrate their preparedness for the college golf schedule. College coaches will follow JQS tournament results to identify future AJGA stars and evaluate future talent for college golf.

Education

Players shall be provided with critical information pertaining to college golf development, including AJGA Performance Based Entry management, NCAA eligibility requirements and optimized tournament scheduling.
